JAGUAR XJ NAMED ONE
OF THE SAFEST CARS
Forbes.com recently
released its list of the top 20 safest cars for 2007 and included on the
list was Jaguar’s flagship sedan, the XJ.
To compile the list, Forbes referenced numerous outside sources, including
Consumer Reports, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Insurance
Institute of Highway Safety and Highway Loss Data Institute.
The Jaguar XJ was
included on the list due to its perfect rating in accident-avoidance capabilities
by Consumer Reports and substantially better-than-average frequency of
insurance injury-claim filings, according to HLDI.
The XJ is well-equipped
with a number of standard safety features, such as advanced Tire Pressure
Monitoring System, Reverse Park Control and the Adaptive Restraint Technology
System, which tailors airbag deployment to the needs of the driver and
passenger based on the severity of the impact, occupant's weight and seat
position.
Some of the other
vehicles included on the list were the Acura RDX, BMW Z4, Lexus SC and
Porsche Boxster.
